Group Volunteer Programs in Africa
BESPOKE OFFERINGS
Purposeful Travel for Schools, Universities and Corporate Teams
We work with schools, universities and companies to create fully bespoke experiences that combine meaningful volunteer work with structured learning, professional development and genuine adventure. Group travel done properly.
Why Groups Choose Us
Fully Bespoke Programs. Every itinerary is built collaboratively around your goals, learning outcomes and budget, whether you’re a school, university or corporate team.
22 Years on the Ground. Two decades of responsible, community-led programs across Sub-Saharan Africa, backed by lasting local partnerships and a proven safety record.
Award-Winning Expertise. Internationally recognised for responsible tourism and community impact, with permanent in-country teams who know this region inside out.
Real Community Impact. We work directly with local communities and organisations to ensure every program addresses genuine, on-the-ground priorities.
Transformative for Participants. Your group will leave with stronger leadership skills, global awareness and practical insight no classroom can replicate.
SDG-Aligned Frameworks. Our programs actively support key U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, giving institutions a credible, measurable impact framework.
Who Our Programs Are For
Our programs are designed for any group seeking a structured, purposeful experience in Africa. We regularly work with:
High Schools & Secondary Schools. Curriculum-linked or enrichment-focused trips that build global awareness, character and confidence in young people.
Sixth Forms & Colleges. Pre-university experiences that develop independence, intercultural competence and a broader perspective on the world.
Universities. Academically rigorous programs designed in close collaboration with faculty, aligned to specific course outcomes and research objectives.
Companies. Impact-driven experiences for teams seeking meaningful engagement, leadership development and a different kind of team challenge.
Our Project Types
Every program we run is developed in direct partnership with local communities and organisations – not imposed from the outside, but shaped by genuine, long-term relationships built over more than two decades. We work only with partners who share our commitment to ethical, sustainable practice, and we provide transparent impact reporting so your institution or organisation can clearly demonstrate the value and outcomes of your group’s involvement. Your group can get involved across four core areas:
- Community Development
- Environmental & Wildlife Research / Conservation
- Sports & Youth Development
- Healthcare & Medical Support
Our Destinations
Our destinations take you across some of Africa’s most iconic and diverse landscapes – from the vibrant energy of Cape Town and the wildlife-rich Greater Kruger region, to the tropical shores of Zanzibar, the adventure capital of Livingstone, and the untamed beauty of Kenya – each offering a unique and unforgettable experience.
What You’ll Take Away
Intercultural Competence By living and working alongside local communities, participants develop the ability to engage respectfully and effectively across cultures.
Global Citizenship Participants will gain real insight into social, environmental and economic challenges and return home with a clearer sense of their role in contributing to a more equitable world.
Personal Growth Stepping outside familiar environments pushes us to build resilience, independence and self-awareness.
Leadership Through structured responsibility, problem-solving and guided reflection, participants strengthen their decision-making, accountability and ability to lead with empathy.
Collaboration Working within diverse teams and community settings puts communication, active listening and shared ownership to the test, in the best possible way.
Safety & Support
The safety and wellbeing of your group – and the communities you’ll work alongside – is at the heart of everything we do. Every program is underpinned by:
24/7 Support. Each group is accompanied by a dedicated, English-speaking local guide, with direct access to our in-country management team for immediate assistance and emergency response.
Risk Assessments & Emergency Procedures. Detailed, destination-specific risk planning and clear emergency protocols built into every itinerary from the outset.
Preparation. You’ll be fully briefed on packing, health, cultural considerations, safety protocols and program objectives – so that every participant arrives informed and ready to engage.
Real stories. Real impact.
We love our projects, but it is always more powerful to hear it from others. Here is what previous group volunteers have to say:
“The trip was amazing, the people on it were fantastic. The people in charge of organising were friendly and the activities were interactive and altered my viewpoint on the natural world and how to conserve it. Thank you for this great opportunity.”
Ethan, Doncaster UTC
Kenya
“A experience I wouldn’t miss for the world, living in a new culture and new environment with the support from Suzie and others as well as our teachers efforts and planning we couldn’t of had a better time. We have all learned an incredible amount not even about life in Africa but about ourselves.”
Lleyton, South Devon College
Zanzibar
“From start to finish just amazing, going on game drives in the day and evening were really good, saw lots of animals. I enjoyed the group working and programmes and the talks. I feel I have leaned a lot about the area and the animals. The staff were really nice, I was very sad to leave. I hope I can come back again.”
