Did the teaching project in Zambia and from day one I felt that I had an immediate impact. It was amazing how driven and open the kids were. Even though I am fairly young (17), I felt as if I was able to find my role and actually lead classes. The people at the hostel and the managers were awesome to work with and made sure everything was safe and easy. I would certainly do this again if I had the chance.

We volunteered at African Impact at the end of a big trip to Africa. In our 2 weeks of volunteering it felt like we saw so much more of Africa, whilst doing our best to support their causes in just a short time. Everyone at AI is very welcoming and friendly - the staff are always available to check how things are going and if you are happy with what you are doing on your projects. The whole experience was very eye-opening and difficult at times to digest how hard life is for some people in Zambia, but I hope that our contribution will help the local communities and schools in some way. We are very glad that we volunteered at African Impact and would absolutely recommend to anyone that would like to support important causes in Zambia whilst also getting a real insight into day-to-day life there.

As soon as I arrived in Livingstone I immediately fell in love with the color and the people of this country. I strongly advise this incredible adventure to everyone because you will meet fantastic people and a impressive culture. Here I worked in Libuyo school where I found kids that fill my heart with happiness and joy and apart from that I also found very friendly volunteers with whom a real family was created.

My time here at Livingstone, Zambia with African Impact was very fulfilling and I felt like I was genuinely helping people in need. I don’t feel like my time here was wasted at all. It was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone with a passion for helping those less fortunate. Don’t be afraid to make friends as soon as you get here and immerse yourself in the community. Talk to the residents and children it is a lot of fun.
