IB CAS in
Zanzibar
An 8-day school program shaped around your CAS goals, marine conservation,
community work, and reflection in Jambiani.
Marine Conservation and Community Work, Built Around Your CAS Requirements
Over 8 days in Jambiani, IB students take part in locally guided marine conservation fieldwork, community teaching, and cultural exchange, alongside structured reflection. With your school, we shape the program around its learning goals and a focus such as dolphin monitoring, coral reef surveys, teaching, or environmental education. Activities depend on local guidance and what is appropriate for the group.
The experience is designed to support Creativity, Activity and Service, with opportunities to consider all seven CAS learning outcomes. It does not award CAS credit or replace a school’s own planning, evidence and assessment process.
We plan the practical and safeguarding side of each trip with your school. Your staff remain
involved in student care and supervision, while our team coordinates locally guided activities
and support in Jambiani.
This is one possible schedule, not a fixed plan.

Forest & first science briefing: Jozani Forest and the Butterfly Centre, then a presentation on dolphin and coral conservation and a first Swahili lesson.

Where your group will stay
Your group stays at our base in Jambiani, in air-conditioned, en-suite rooms shared by up to four students, with single rooms for accompanying teachers. Linens, mosquito nets and fans are provided, and there’s a swimming pool and several shared spaces for studying, journaling or relaxing as a group.
Meals are freshly prepared by our local chefs, and dietary needs can usually be accommodated with advance notice. The base has 24/7 security and first-aid-trained staff, and students receive a full safety induction on arrival, with teachers staying involved in supervision throughout.
