Dolphin & Marine Conservation Volunteer Project
Spend your mornings on the water in the Menai Bay Conservation Area, helping local marine scientists record dolphin behavior and how boats and tourists affect it. Afternoons turn to data, reef snorkeling, and community education. Our research here has run since 2007, and your data goes into it.
Marine Conservation & Dolphin Research Internship
For students and early-career researchers who want to be part of the research team rather than visit it. Interns take on a defined role in the dolphin and reef monitoring, look after the data from field to report, and help guide the volunteers who join the project, working closely with our marine scientists.
Teaching English & Community Support Volunteer Project
Support the teachers already working in Jambiani. Mornings are spent in nursery classrooms with songs, games, and creative activities, and afternoons are spent helping adult learners practice the English they use in tourism and hospitality.
Volunteer or Intern?
The Dolphin & Marine Conservation volunteer project and the internship do the same kind of work, so the difference is how deep you’d like to go. Volunteers join the project for a shorter stay and learn the methods as they go. Interns stay longer, take on a defined research role, and become part of the team. Not sure which suits you?
