IB CAS Field Program
Greater Kruger
Students work as field researchers, under the direct supervision of Jason Kipling, our Operations Manager with 16 years of field experience, and Katie, who holds an MSc in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. Every hour in the field contributes data that feeds directly into how Mthimkulu reserve is managed.
The program is built specifically for IB Diploma students in Year 1 or Year 2. Every activity is mapped to CAS strands and Learning Outcomes, so the work counts twice: toward the reserve’s research, and toward your CAS requirements.
Data collected here is submitted to SABAP2, the African Carnivore Wildbook, and the GCF GRIN, national and international databases that outlast the trip.
