Uganda - Country Information

The land of the Mountain Gorillas… Uganda shares its Eastern border with Kenya and its Western frontier is the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Uganda has faced many tragedies since its independence but now has one of the fastest growing economies on the continent, and is a welcoming haven for travellers who wish to explore her tropical jungles and unique ecosystems.

Uganda Visas

Most foreign nationals require visas to enter Uganda.

Uganda Health, Vaccinations, HIV/AIDS & Drinking Water

Malaria - Malaria prophylactics recommended by your personal physician are necessary. As well as insect repellent and covering yourself up with long trousers and light cotton long-sleeved shirts in the evenings.

Vaccinations - Hepatitis A, Polio, Typhoid

Vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory and be sure to have your vaccination record of yellow fever with you when you arrive.

HIV/AIDS - HIV/AIDS is a risk and it is recommended that you take all the necessary precautions.

It is not necessary to drink bottled water in Uganda.

The best advice is for you to be a well-informed traveller and that you adequately prepare yourself for your travel experience. Uganda Weather & Climate
  • Equatorial Uganda does not have particularly distinct differences between the summer and winter seasons.
  • Dry months: December to late February offers the driest and warmest temperatures.
  • June – September are also dry and pleasantly warm.
  • Wet months: Generally March – April, and November.
