For those of you who aren’t totally up to date with everything
that we’re involved with and the new Africa volunteer projects
that we are developing, here is a little taste of some of the other
projects that we are currently involved with...
Botswana - The Mashatu Research
Participation Programme
This is raw Africa... Join highly experienced elephant and leopard
researchers in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, which borders on
the Limpopo River in Southern Africa. Mashatu offers some of Africa’s
best game viewing which you will have the opportunity to experience
whilst out with the researchers. The plethora of game and your experienced
guides and researchers will leave you enthralled by this rugged
corner of Africa...
Mozambique Dolphin Research Volunteer
Programme
White sands, coconut palms and the spectacular Indian Ocean stretching
as far as the eye can see... This project is as exotic as it sounds.
Based near the southern Mozambican city of Maputo, you will have
the opportunity to immerse yourselves in the captivating local Afro-Portuguese
culture and assist researchers with their vital studies of marine
life, dolphins and turtles.
‘The Wild Coast’ South
Africa Conservation and Education/Sports Development
Volunteer in rural and village schools along the scenic ‘Wild
Coast’. The programme focuses on enhancing education and computer
literacy skills and sports development.
Integrated into this programme is the Inkwenkwezi Conservation Initiative
– work alongside game rangers and field guides. This part
of the world is known as ‘the Wild Coast’ and is a gateway
to the inland cultural mecca of the Transkei, which you will have
the chance to explore further with organised excursions. Also available
are PADI dive certifications, surfing lessons, and beach horse rides.
‘Project Childhood’
- Cape Town Street Children Rehabilitation Programme
Work with the South African Police Department at their community
centre, facilitating the rehabilitation and re-integration of the
children of South Africa’s ‘Mother City’ of Cape
Town. The programme involves educational development and teaching,
sports coaching and skills learning for the street children. Vivacious
Cape Town – one of the most stunning cities in the world,
is the home of the spectacular and unique Table Mountain and the
heritage site of Nelson Mandela’s prison home, Robben Island.
