Jerry Matsika becomes our Project Leader at Hwange volunteer project based at the Miombo Safari Camp in Zimbabwe
We are very happy to announce Jerry Matsika as our Project Leader at Hwange volunteer project based at Miombo Safari Camp. The project is based as a wildlife animal rescue programme where volunteers are on call-out. Jerry is a professional guide with a darts license who has been in the industry for over 20 years. His aim is to eliminate or at least minimise the problem of snared and mismanaged wildlife in and around the Hwange National Park.
While volunteers are on standby they are involved in Snare Collection, Wildlife Population Counts and Snare Checks on Wildlife, Spoor Transect/ Boundary Patrols, Road Maintenance and Anti Poaching. At no point will volunteers make contact with poachers.
At any given time during the day there is a possibility of receiving a call of a snared animal, in which case everything is dropped and the snared animal is the priority of the day.
We are very excited about this new Africa wildlife project based at the Miombo Safari Campe and we are constantly looking for new volunteers for this and our other wildlife conservation projects in Africa.
