Dr Pieter Kat – ecologist in Lion Rehabilitation Newsletters » June 2005 » Dr Pieter Kat - ecologist in Lion Rehabilitation Dr Pieter Kat – Our new ecologist has come on board in support of our Lion Rehabilitation Project I also must mention Dr Pieter Kat who has been working on conservation projects in Africa for the past 18 years, the past 9 of which have been spent on lion research in Botswana. He is the author of "Prides - the lions of the Moremi". He is an outspoken critic of the lack of action by many conservationists when faced with the facts of the dramatic decline of the number of lions in Africa. Dr Pieter Kat agreeing to be the Project's Consulting Ecologist for African Encounter. We have been privileged to have him visit us not so long ago and get a closer look at what we do here. For your interest I have attached his speech he made in the opening of ‘Lion Encounter’ in Victoria Falls (our new project). Other news this month...
